1. What are cherry tomatoes? Origin of cherry tomatoes
Cherry tomatoes have been widely grown since the 1800s and the origin of this type of tomato is believed to be from Egypt. During the 1919s, cherry tomatoes became popular in the United States.
Cherry tomato seeds are a direct ancestor of modern cultivated tomatoes and are the only wild fruit found outside of South America. It is believed to have been first domesticated in the Puebla-Veracruz region of Mexico and arrived in the area from South America as the weedy cherry tomato.
In biology and botany, this type of cherry is called an indeterminate variety. Cherry tomatoes are 3 times more nutritious than regular tomatoes.

There are also some organic compounds such as carotenoids, quercetin, chlorogenic acid, lutein, especially lycopene.
