- Crab: Put it in a bucket or bowl and sprinkle it with water regularly to preserve it for 1 week.
- Crab: Store in the freezer for no more than 3 days.
- Lobster: You can cover the shrimp with seaweed and preserve it for 2 days.

2. How to preserve seafood for long distances
Because each type of seafood will have unique characteristics, preserving it while travelling will also be different. You can refer to how to preserve each type of seafood as follows:
For crabs
You should tie the crab’s claws tightly and put it in a foam box with holes around it so the crab can breathe. Next, wet the towel and cover the crab so that the crab always has the moisture it needs to maintain life for 12 hours.

For shrimp and crab
First, put the shrimp and crabs in very cold water so that they go into a coma due to heat shock, then put them in a plastic bag, inject oxygen and tie the bag tightly.

For clams, oysters, snails and other seafood
First, you should prepare a Styrofoam box lined with a layer of crushed ice, continuously placing one layer of seafood and the next layer of ice until the box is full. You should make sure the first and last layers are crushed ice so the seafood can be preserved for about 5-7 hours. Finally, you just need to tape it tightly.

3. Good tips for choosing fresh seafood
- Fish: Choose live fish with clear eyes, bright red gills, no dark spots, and fish meat with a certain elasticity.
- Squid: You should buy large ones, the body is thick and firm, the ink sac is intact and the brown membrane on the outside is still there.
- Shrimp: To buy fresh lobsters, you should choose ones that are still healthy, have shiny shells, and are stronger. For other types of shrimp, you should choose ones with a clear shell, transparent and sticky legs, intact heads and shrimp, and no fishy smell.
- Crabs: To choose to buy delicious crabs, you should keep an eye on those with hard, sturdy plastrons, dark-coloured crab shells, big strong claws and full spines.
- Clams, oysters, and snails: You should choose to buy ones that do not have a strange odour. For clams, priority is given to those that still have their mouths open and close when touched. On the contrary, for clams, you need to choose clams with tightly closed mouths and hard shells.
Note when to buy fresh seafood
In addition, you should pay attention to when you buy fresh seafood, such as crabs, crabs, and shrimp, you should avoid buying on full moon days (full moon) because the meat will often be fried and not delicious. For squid, you should not buy on moonlit days because during this time boats usually do not go squid fishing, so most of the squid sold will not be fresh.
